Benfica: A short bio
Benfica is the most supported Portuguese club and the European club with the highest percentage of supporters in its own country, having an estimated 14 million supporters worldwide and 400,000 members, making us the largest sports club in the world by membership.

With 87 major trophies won, Benfica is one of the two most decorated clubs in Portugal.[6][7] They have won 84 domestic trophies: a record 38 Primeira Liga titles, a record 26 Taça de Portugal, a record 8 Taça da Liga, 9 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira and our crowning glory, back-to-back European Cups in 1961 and 1962.
UEFA ranks us as the 8th in the all-time European club rankings, and CIES Football Observatory declared our academy the most profitable in the world, generating €379m since 2015. Real Madrid was ranked second with €330m with Monaco third on €285m.

Here are some of the players that have come through our academy:

Bernardo Silva
Manchester City
Considered one of the best midfielders in the world, Silva is known for his unique combination of creativity, dribbling, stamina, versatility, and work-rate. He is ambassador for our foundation.

João Félix
AC Milan
A superstar for Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid, Chelsea paid €126 million for him, the 4th highest in history, at only 19 years of age. After a stint at Barcelona, he is now with Italian giants AC Milan.

Ederson
Manchester City
Born in Brazil, but with Benfica since 15, Ederson honed his craft with us, winning 2 Chanpionships before moving to England where he won 6 x Premier League titles and 3 x Golden Glove.

Reuben Dias
Manchester City
Arguably, the best centre back in world football today, Dias has won every accolade in the game including the Treble: Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.
